Description

This is the second chick to hatch. I made a mistake on "Are You Back". If you look at all three of these last photos, you will see the different stages of the feathers. It is really amazing how much they change in 24 hours. Yes, they all seem to have different personalities. They also stay in different parts of the nest now for the most part. I guess they do need their own rooms! I have spent hours watching these little guys. I hope they all do well. Yes, I know. This one needs to wipe his mouth!

Oh, my! Territoriality already! Well, we all need some personal room. What happens when mom and dad come back to the nest? They are bigger and take up more space. You haven't seen the little ones quarrel, have you? One can really see the intelligence in the eye of this fellow. He's looking, and thinking. Thanks for pointing out the rapidity with the change/development of the feathers. I wonder when they'll start flapping their wings? That would be a must see (if at all possible, considering the encroaching leaves). Keep up the good work, as far as it's possible. Thanks a lot for this series! :-)

Great capture! I would guess he learned his 'manners' by watching his parents... Very beautiful bird, even with the food on his beak
