Description

This image was commissioned for a music video by a local musician doing his rendition of Millworker by James Taylor. The video can be seen here: Millworker. I think it's very good, so please do listen to it if you have the time! The female model was modified and posed in Poser, then imported to Vue 10. Free models used were the radiators, sewing machine, shoes and wall fan. Everything else was created by me in Vue (including the thread and bobbin on the sewing machine). The background brick building is a faithful replica of part of a Finnish cotton mill. Sorry for the long absence, I don't have much personal time these days, but I'm still here. Hope everyone is well and thanks for stopping by!

The emotional impact this image has on me is profound. Both of my grandparents lived their entire lives working at the Reigel textile mill in Ware Shoals SC that looked exactly like the one you have in the background through the window. My father worked there for a short time too. My grandfather died of "white lung" caused by the cotton dust in the mill. He was a sweeper. This image captures all the hope, longing, and despair of the people who spend their lives in mills. Beautiful and heart wrenching. Bravo. One Million Stars :-)

She looks like she needs a break, in the sunshine maybe ? Neat work on this poignant scene, BTW in the video there is different structures in the background, so I guess you didn't get the Finnish cotton mill finished in time ? either way still kool work ! ~Cheers~

Thank you everyone! I've so missed all of you. Yes, I switched out the background building, I wasn't very happy with the original building and had been researching old factories and mills, but deadlines are deadlines, LOL! I'm still working on the rest of the mill.

Wonderful image. The sense of longing to be elsewhere is very present in her face. You captured a quiet desperation beautifully, and all the details and render of this image are excellent. Unique interpretation of the song by this artist. Great collaboration.
