Description
Ok. First things. After trying to bring this down from 10 MB, I thought: Can I even do this? I removed panels, redid it, intensified, even pleaded with the thing, until I realized: You can't capture a person's life in one image. What I did, instead, was try to capture some of Carol's passion. Her love. Her vision. Fantasy. Rapture. Her beautiful children's sense (it goes on)...and wrap it in some images of my city. Carol (romanceworks, here) is one of our truly venerable members: She won Artist of the Month in Mixed Medium, received her degree in art, did interior design, painting, writing, commercial art, book design, card design, does art shows, shows in galleries, etc, etc, and has been immersed in these things for years. What I love: She captures the flow & inner rhythms of the heart. The forms, colors & pulses of inner rapture. She paints flowers & lions & birds & forests (etc), but flowing through them all are these opulent waves, of undulating hues & lights & shadows, moving in & out of each other like an ancient sensual dance. And she does it again & again, giving voice to the teeming forest of the soul. She was remarkably open about her husband's passing (with whom she started her original gallery). She explored her deepest feelings with disarming bravery, and yet continued to support others---she did, she still does---as part of her extended family; as one who knows the essence of the life, its ups & downs & plunges & leaps, and it's ineluctable sense of love... Carol, you've supported me repeatedly with your wonderful kindness & deep heart, you've supported many others with the same...Despite losses, you've never stopped giving love, despite moments of great solitude, you never stopped celebrating our commonality. And you give love & heart a voice through your art. I wish you repeated inspirations on your journey, am grateful you're part of mine, and to paraphrase an old teacher: "May you walk with that light which sits at our center and knows not a word..." Why not a word? It doesn't need to speak, because all things come from it. Thank you for all the light you've given,

What a remarkably beautiful image, Mark; I don't know Carol, but this work evokes a giving, nurturing feeling, so she must be very wonderful. Fantastic work, as always!

This is one of the most thoughtful and beautiful dedications I've seen in some time Mark. For sure Carol is going to be grateful for this colorful collage that does indeed captures some of her passion that is always on display in her art. As you pointed out so well, Carol is one of the most talented people in the gallery. Her art almost seems to have a life all it's own, and touches each of us in a different way. Her kind spirit you spoke of is always on display as she takes time to respond to everyone.

Mark, first, I am so honored you have taken the time to create this inspiring and beautiful dedication and artwork for me. I have experienced a dark place in my life within the last few years with the loss of my soul mate, which I still struggle with daily. Creating art is my way through the darkness. And so are you. You bring light and hope and love into my life in a very special way, with your generous spirit, your kindness that seems to be boundless, your awareness and vision in your own art as well as others, and so much more. This image to me is like all the seasons, with the vivid blossoming of Spring flowers, mixed with the bare branches of Winter. And in the middle I see blue skies of Summer, the oranges of Autumn, the life in the city, nature, and color, such wonderful color and light. We all go through different seasons in our life, some filled with warmth and new life, others cold and lonely. This image spans those experiences in such a unique and gentle way. I will treasure this dedication, as I treasure my friendship with you. Both are a one-of-a-kind gift. Thank you for this, and for being you. I would like to print this out, frame it, and hang it in my home, to remind me I am not going through the seasons of life alone. Carol

A wonderful dedication to one of Renderosities most talented artists, she does have a way of bringing her subjects to life so well. I like how you have brought your city and the flowers together here to create something very unique and beautiful, and these too have a life of their own. The colours draw my eye right into the pictures and then I can see the buildings and trees. Splendid work.

What a glorious progression! The first panel has such a deep, yummy richness, I hated to leave it to view the second and third panels, but ahhhhhhh ... you do not disappoint. The dark navy and royal blues with the light, light, light background is just stunning, and the center section is like the point in a magic trick where the scarf turns into a rabbit, but you don't see quite how. Everything turns, kicks out, and "TA-DA!" Done. Beautiful.

OHH GOSH! What a beautiful sight. So adorable with the flowers and branches and white silhouettes and the center of the flowers looking almost like sparkles. You have really surpassed yourself with this wonderful triptych, Mark. I am glad I dont have to choose between these three. A fabulous dedication to Carol. No wonder she is so thrilled. Superbly done indeed. :)
