Description
The Tetraodontidae family of fish, includes many familiar species, which are variously called blowfish, puffer fish, puffers, balloon fish, blowfish, bubble fish, toadfish, honey toads, sugar toads, and sea squab. They are morphologically similar to the closely related porcupine fish, which have large external spines (unlike the thinner, hidden spines of this blowfish, which are only visible when the fish has puffed up). The eyes are plastic and this item was for display purposes and not for sale. Spotted in a shell shop in Key West, Florida. Zoom does work.
