Hi, I'm Marilyn. Â I've been posting here on RR for a few years now and thought it was time to update my profile. Â It's been wonderful learning so much from the amazingly talented people here. Â I've had the chance to meet many in person and some have become great and good friends. Â Starting with a Kodak Brownie camera when I was about 7 or 8, moving up to Instamatics, Polaroids, then the Pentax K1000 that really got me on the way, I've been looking at the world thru a lens for a long time. Â Got the bug honestly; my dad was a photographer and gave me the gene!! Â Digital changed the world and I jumped in with both feet. Â You would've gone thru 100's of rolls of film in one day the way we can shoot and delete all day long. Â Progess...it can be awesome sometimes.
At any rate, RR rocks, the talent is over the top and I'm just gonna keep on shooting!!
Thanks for looking and keep those cameras rollin'!!
peace.....marilyn

We still have these turnstiles at the Melbourne Zoo. I always worry I am going to get a finger stuck in them!

You've made a super photo of these scary mantraps!

I love this! If you were below ground level, it was the SUBway. If you were above the street, it was the ELevated train.

Maybe when they arrest you for taking shots here they put you in a cage with a perpetual turnstile? Great shot!

Oh, this is such a cool, quintessentially Chicago shot...and guess what? I think it's illegal to photograph CTA employees, but infrastructure might be OK...that's my story and I'm sticking to it! What's hilarious is I thought of you as I made a similar shot, and you went and posted this one. You're psychic, right? This is a fantastic shot. Looks like Chicago Avenue, if I'm not mistaken. Down in the kinda grimy bits. This is really fantastic! It's so Chicago, kinda like you live here. Oh and just so you know, this is where you'd get off the train to get to the Red Head.

I remember these as a kid and there was always a smart ass (can I say "ass"?) that would pull them backwards to 'orange squeeze' some little kid until he cried. Nice shot but not such good memories!
