Description

Hi again! Dresden, the capital of Saxony, is very proud about the title "Florence of the North", and in fact is is the greatest collection of barocque architecture style north of the Alpes. One of the finest baroque ensembles is the Zwinger, an old playground for king August The Strong and his noble court, his friends, maitresses and guests of the state. The Zwinger is very famous for its countless stone carvings and sculptures. Lets do some look ins, first at day, later at night... Thanks for your comments and the favs, I was very happy about it. Hope you like this one, too. Enjoy! billcody Pic was taken 2008 at our first trip to Saxony

What details! I love all of the...um...baroque business in this shot! There are so many nooks and crannies for the eye to wander into and around. There is something distinctly Florentine about this architecture and overall image, and it's perfectly captured. Brilliant work.
