Description

Rye Back Beach Australia. If you zoom in you can just make out a surfer about to enter the water. Rye is an excellent beach for surfing, but due to it's big waves and deadly rips it is suitable for experienced surfers only.

And yet it looks much the same as other beaches you've shown, so it is an important lesson to consult local people before surfing unfamiliar territory!

I like wet feet zones, but I don't really care for riptides, undertows and all of those goodies that tend to be not so good for people! There's a whole lot of excitement in this shot and I love the seafoam and the jiggly excitement. Really wonderful light and color too. Also, I should point out that wet-feet zones are also best when there aren't nasty things that bite, sting, or both. Thankfully, Chicago's not so actively interesting beaches are devoid of stinging things and the only things that bite are...um...well...the human beach visitors.
