-------------- Tales of the Raptors – The Twins

The woman from the market was there again, just up ahead in the alleyway. But this time she didn’t try to avoid them. She motioned for them to enter a tight doorway with a colored cloth awning hanging above it. Kami had her suspicions, but there was little they could do right now. They had to get off the streets. The soldiers would be coming. Miri’s name and face were posted everywhere. Her escape from Lentus Barriaus Quintis had been turned upside down. Someone had murdered the man and laid the blame squarely on the shoulders of the famous actress. Fortunately, few outside of Viridia cared. Unfortunately, they were in Viridia.

Once inside, the woman closed the door and pulled down the shade over the window. A sudden noise caught Wendy’s attention and she turned to see the same woman pulling the shades down on the side windows opposite. The one at the front door pushed the cowl back from her head and turned to smile at them. The one to the south followed suit. So that explained how she could move so quickly from one side of the market to the other with no sign of magic,… twins, identical from the looks of them. Kami looked back and forth. Rose tightened the grip on her hammer.

“That will not be necessary Roselyn Starfall. We are no threat to you. In fact, we are wanted criminals just as you are.”

Erelae bristled, “Ve may be vanted, but ve are no criminals.”

“My apologies”, the other said as though she was speaking as the same person, “we are not truly criminals either, though we have killed. We’ll just say you are as much criminals to the Viridian justice system as we are.”

“Viridian justice?” Wendy snickered. “Now there’s two words that don’t belong in the same sentence.”

Kami nodded, “So, to what do we owe this aid? And what should we call you?”

“I am Arobelle”, and the other continued the sentence without a break, “and I am Isabelle. We are Atheaen, captured in a pirate attack on our home of Chythiros and brought here as slaves.”

Arobelle continued, “We ended up in the arena and escaped together. We have been fighting against the injustice of the Crimson Sisterhood ever since.”

Isabelle stepped forward, “And now we have found where they have our mother. She is a slave in the house of Senator Leveticus.”

Arobelle finished, “We will aid you here in Pinea. In exchange, you will help us find and free our mother. Agreed?”

Erelae narrowed her white eyes, “And vhat iz it you can do for us?”

They both dropped their cloaks at the same time, revealing astounding figures scantily clad and muscles honed to fight.

Isabelle was first to speak this time, “We were once Champions of the Sisters of the Pearl, and though we no longer claim the title of Paladin, our Erotic training has not faltered, nor are our sword arms weak.”
