Description
Unfinished and uncanny, this is a new character I'm working on. I haven't worked on the eyes yet, and the expressions are very hastily done, but I wanted to illustrate a trick I use in my work.
I use puppeteer in Daz studio to interpolate between various expressions. I create various key expressions in several intensities (e.g. neutral -> smile -> laugh), and then map these out puppeteer. So in this example the pictures on the left and right are posed/morphed by me, and the central one is blend between the two.
The benefit of this is that you can quickly combine expressions. For example, you can blend surprise with happiness, or fear with disgust to get different results. You can also have layers to quickly adjust things like the tongue, cheeks, pupil dilation, and so on.
It's a *lot* of work up front, but I find it's quicker than tweaking parameter dials all the time, and more flexible than just using stock poses.
Thanks for viewing.
