Description

Rio Grande Gorge Bridge, locally known as the Gorge bridge or High Bridge is a cantilever truss bridge over the Rio Grande Gorge. It is about 10 miles (16Km) Northwest of Taos, New Mexico. It is the 5th highest bridge in the USA at 650 ft (200m)above the Rio Grande River. The span is 1280 ft (390m) It was dedicated on Sept. 10th 1965. Thanks for stopping by. Mankind does have a way of spoiling a great view, but in this case the blue steelwork blends in very well. An arresting shot; love the detail, lighting, sky... but the wonky horizon bothers me.

This a truly fantastic image! I can't imagine how much time and work was put into this structure.... 5th highest or 1st highest... this is totally breath-taking! Talk about a fear of heights! Excellent point of view as well! Not only giving us insight of the structure, but a different view of life altogether when see the scale here of how tiny the people really are compared to something so much bigger and vaster! Well done!
