Wonderful capture and motif, Richard. I really love the color of that one. So beautiful. 3 of my red roses, in the garden, survived the winter. It will take several months(3-4), before they bloom, though :)

Not sure the central composition works, the flower is "looking" into the frame on the right which directs the eye there, so everything on the left is redundant. Also - the wire fence blurred into the background is distracting (i thought it was a checkerboard overlay you put on the photo on first glance). Otherwise fairly muted tones (more contrast may have given the shot more impact), but good use of simple colours without (barring the fence) any distracting elements.
