Description

Today I had my maiden flight with my octocopter. After a few setbacks and some bugs to sort out, it finaly took to the air. Here is my octocopter when I was programming the flightcontroller with my little laptop. Hope to produce some video and photographs in the near future. This will lift my Nikon D300s with no problem. Flight time is close to 10min. with 2x4000mAh batteries.

That nervous first flight time again ! looks a stunner, can't wait to see the first footage...I hope a safe landing was followed by an Akevitt or two to celebrate a successful flight..

Fantastic development! This is perhaps the first 'octocopter' in the world?

Aehm, may ask what is the reason for using eight rotors? Just the size of available motors? Besides that, the maximum number that makes sense is four, one for each control.

If one motor stops, I can still control the helicopter.
