Your ease with geological forms is in total harmony with your ease with biological, mechanical and other forms. It follows you'd be drawn to forms like these. I know nothing of the software---apparently a few of your commenters don't know World Machine either, but I don't even know Terragen. (Though I know it exists.) However you create these landscapes, your fascination with the music, chasms and power of these forms is very apparent. The piece begins---on top---with plateaus, and then it breaks apart into this rough-hewn hilly landscape, filled with the same deep gorges as in the plateaus. But the majority of the piece has a crater-like basin, broken up by these huge chasms. I could praise your articulation of it all---ie, with the softwares---but I don't know what that articulation entails, just that this is articulated with evident skill. I used to do map and scientific data drawings---where the data, cartographic representations, etc, were used solely as artistic expression---so I understand fascination with geologic forms...The big central chasm, here, is the dramatic 'center' of the piece, and its sheer vertical striations (along the 'cliff' sides) indicates some kind of cataclysmic activity from the past. (A fault-line, maybe?) And it all moves in musical fashion, as many of your explorations do, with criss cross fissures, lots of wave-laden textured surfaces, lots of shadows, and a front section spreading out as if it's about to engulf us. A fascinating exploration, typical of the many things you do with earth forms in your art; and it's a journey from flat back to gaping front, moving like the movement of a symphony. You also explore some of these themes in your architectural pieces. Your geological pieces are about architecture too, only natural architecture. Fascinating Beethoven-like piece...
