Description

Hello and thank you for looking! This is the first picture in my "Calendar Series". A few years ago I made some shots of my parents' garden and later worked them into a monthly calendar that I used as christmas presents for my relatives. (When I had them printed by a professional print shop, I should have asked for the price in advance. BOY, those were the most expensive calendars of my life...) When I had to crop the pictures into the right format and then find the best cutout detail, it was an exciting new adventure. Because of the very different formats, i.e. the photos were of course shot in 4:3, the final pictures looked veeeery different from the originals. If you also take into account that the final pictures, in most cases, where only very small details from the full photographs, each sheet went a long way, from a creative point of view. In a few cases you would hardly recognize the calender picture from the full photo. :-) To my shame I have to admit that I have no idea, what lower this is... Technical: From the technical point of view this is one of the weakest sheets. Unfortunatelly the photo was a bit blurry so I tried my best to sharpen it up a little and also raised the contrast. (The following calendar sheets will be better, I promise.) The printed picture looked a bit different from the digital version, so I was happy that the blurriness did not catch so much attention. All postwork was done with The Gimp.
