The idea for this crossover fan art came about during a crazy conversation on Facebook when I said one reason I loved the Pirates of the Caribbean movies and Star Wars was because I have a thing for sword fights. Somehow, the idea of Jack Sparrow with a lightsaber popped into my head and refused to leave. So... here we are. The lightsaber effect was created using a combination of IDL lighting in Poser and some digital painting in Photoshop. I had trouble thinking up what color of lightsaber Jack would have so I just went with what looked good for this scene. I had a lot of trouble with the IDL (turned out it was a single material causing the light calculations to explode) but it was all fixed thanks to the wonderful "wimvdb" at the official Poser 9/2012 forum. In case you can't tell, he's in Mos Eisley on Tatooine because, as Obi-Wan said, it's a "wretched hive of scum and villainy". Sounds perfect for Jack!
