Description
When we moved into our house nine years ago, we found that the previous owners had built a crude retaining wall & had used old tires to fill it in. It was disintegrating, so we dismantled it & pulled the tires out. We didn't feel like going to the trouble & expense of disposing of the tires, so we stuck them in our unused barn - where they still sit. I happened to be wandering out by the barn yesterday with camera in hand & thought it would be an interesting challenge to see if I could do anything creative with such a mundane subject. Not sure if I was successful, but here's the result...

there is beauty in the discarded objects around us,sometimes, and i think you have found some here, also they make good mini veg patches for people with limited space

Creative color is sooo hard. After years of b/w, when I first tried color I tried for the Fujichrome "Carnival Color" pop type shot and wasn't happy with it. You guys that are adding the graphic element....well, I may have to dig out the camera and see what photoshop and gimp can do for me. Always amazed at what a "good eye" can find. I really like this one. 5 stars if thew site would let me rate it.

It makes me wonder now why tires are black? I don't think rubber has much color at all, so why don't they make some blue tires? I'm a bit tired of black...and I would like some red tires to match my Jeep! These look good!

It is interesting to see how even a common thing like a stack of old rotting tires can become something special when seen through the eyes of an artist.
