Description


The Catholic Church in Wimbledon. It was built in 1887. The pillars are made of Beer stone from Devon, the windows of Ancaster stone from Lincolnshire and the walls of brick covered with plaster inside and knapped flints outside. Clive

A great shot, and some awesome architecture. I am intrigued by the "knapped flint" outside of the wall which I think we see a little closer at the top of the frame in the foreground. The contrast is very striking, and I wonder if it is wet and perhaps looks differently when dry.
