Description

I remember reading hamlet at University and crying on the train , where the death of Ophelia was anounced. Tragi and pathetic and terribly haunting! I had to make a version, so here you are. Stock: model: supermalade-stock, at DA I painted the rest. I am still undecided as to add text below or leave it?

A haunting and beautiful image...as for the text, no need. Now for an observation. For my tatse i would have rotated the image so that her head was at the top and centered to the frame, the black expanse would then leed the eye up to the character, but that is just me and no crit at all...love this a lot, the image speaks volumes :-) thanks for the share

I recognized the image almost immediately. I have seen Ophelia represented in fine art so many times, and your version ranks right up there. And myself, I like the POV. It's unsettling, which it should be, considering the classic piece of literature which inspired it. We are not supposed to feel comfortable with her death. One of the ways fine artists do that it by purposely presenting the composition in an unbalanced way. Great job!
