You might spot me at Kirra Beach, the South-Eastern end of the Gold Coast, Australia, if you like beach walking like myself... but there is more ! My son Jeff (*jif3d*, here at Rendo, it helps to advertise, ooops)... he took this pic of me in 2000, then manipulated it in photo-shop and it's still one of my favourites. Just very briefly about my past... *born in East Prussia; *grew up in Berlin, West Germany; *migrated to "OZ" in 1960, (not the Wizard of Oz) but...AUSTRALIA ! I guess I was more into '2D' since early childhood, and thinking that my son Jeff may have inherited some of my artistic skills, because he translated them into '3D'. I am hooked on photography, since I discovered cameras... that's it in a nutshell. BTW - one of my fav.quotes.... ** I cannot give you the formula for success, but I can give you the formula for failure - which is trying to please everybody !** that's a wrap... Cheers Brigitte.

I LOVE this! What a marvellous piece! We've seen the moon, but didn't know it was closer. That's what happens when you're out in the wilderness. :P Thanks for the info! :)

Mmm, now that's close, I bet all the mice on Earth just had a meltdown, I mean if the moon is still made of cheese that is ! Nicely presented spectacle BB and the back lighting with the postwork bitz are just right ! Well done & ~Cheers~

I hope I converted it correctly, but, according to your kilometer figure, I came up with 221,800 miles from the earth to the moon. That is close, astronomically speaking. But I digress. Cool blending and manipulation of the silhouetted cockatoo foreground with our planet's satellite up there in the sky, Brigitte.

A super image with the large moon in the background, and yes I did see it last night. I was hoping it didn't get any closer in case it triggered another earthquake as the big ones seem to happen at a full moon. I love the cookatoos and always look out for them when I'm in Australia in spite of them being noisy they sound great to me. Excellent work and finish on this image.

Fantastic comp. Brigitte! we don't have Cockatoos, but we have theri cousins (parrots, macaws and parakeets), and I love these types of birds. They are really funny and beautiful. Your image is powerful, great work!

Wow, fabulous moon shot with that great Cockatoo. Yes parrots are the noisiest of neighbors but they certainly do make lovely models for your photos. :) Gorgeous shot.

A great pic you are presenting here, dear BB-chen! A superb shot, and interesting info too. The moon and mood are fantastic. I can imagine the mood what one could feel at that time, a bit jealous maybe I am ;-). Would there be with you :P ! Take it easy BB-chen, and have fun, by being back in business ;) Many hugs, your Jacominchen ♥
