Endeavor
An Orion’s Arm Future History image.
I wanted to visit the conquest and settlement of Mars, and this image is one of several that have been in the pipe for some time.
Models of heavy mining equipment are from various on-line resources -- modified and retextured to suit my needs.
Much of my labor involved creating the Bryce terrain object and even more in building a realistic depiction of an operating open pit mine complete with mining equipment generating atmospheric dust and haze. A wide-angle render will follow.
Space suit is a Google SketchUp 3DS model of the NASA Mk III suit design created by Max Grueter.
Original Google Sketchup Dump Truck & bulldozer, modeled by whitey.
Bulldozer by whitey is modified from an original model by Defrost.
Ore conveyor chute is part of a Google Sketchup model of a bucket wheel mining excavator.
Constructed in Bryce 6.3, image post-work in Photoshop.
