This is amazing! THAT is a pine?!?! Amazing! I guess I'm far too accustomed to smooth pine needles and never really pay attention to the more subtle structures and designs. I love the byplay of the shadow and the light, as well as the fact that I looked ONLY at the thumbnail and thought this was some kind of fabric! that's what I like about photography in general: there's so much you can imply...it's almost like taking pictures of things that aren't there, and a real mastery of composition is what brings that out. I like this a lot.
