Hi everybody,
My name is Dana Pommet and my wife’s name is Josephine. I was born in Gloucester, Massachusetts, in 1942, and except for a tour in the Navy, lived there for most of my life. I retired to Delray Beach, Florida in December 2000. We love to travel and photography goes hand and hand with that. I went digital about 5 years ago and started posting November 22, 2008. I have met so many wonderful people on RR and that makes this whole process so much more interesting than just posting photos. Thanks for all the comments and keep them coming.
Update  January 2012: After hiding and denying my mild Dyslexia, for most of my professional life, and now fighting with its advancement – I want to thank you all for putting up with my poor typing skills and spelling problems. I know that my spell checker hates me and I now depend completely on audio books rather then actually reading printed books.  Life marches on!  Â

Glad you and the missus are okay after that mishap, Dana, which is why cellphones and texting should be banned in autos, just like we do here in California....but that still doesn't stop many of the idiots that continue that dangerous practice. Anyway, good shot of the snow white egret, strongly contrasted against the dark blue water, with its doppelganger shown at the bottom.

It is a splendid capture and that reflection would look like a halo if you posted it upside down. I'm glad you made it safely to your summer abode and glad that you weren't hurt in the accident. It would have given you an awful fright all the same.

A great-looking capture! I also almost got side swiped by a guy who was texting and did not stop for the red light. I was turning left and I have the green arrow. I think the law should ban texting and chatting on the cellphone while on the road. They put too many lives in danger as well as themselves.

This is a fine and great capture - the ring-bird reflection ads something extra to the image. Sad thing with your car. Cell phones is the cause of many accidents. Good you are safe and hopefully she had a good assurance...

Beautifully captured Dana. Love the reflections. Sorry about the car. Cell phones, whether talking on them or texting are responsible for some horrible crashing. Hope it doesn't spoil your vacation!

Beautiful photo and the circular reflection is really interesting. In Alberta we have a distracted driving law that is supposed to stop cell phone useage, but it only works for the people who obey the law, unfortunately.
