Description
Here's my little moody Noir effort for the week.
It's been cloudy and drab the last several days which put me in the right setting, as this one took a few evenings to hammer out the lighting. Normally an IBL and a mesh light, then off to the Lux races. This one, however, with the heavy addition of frosted glass in the windows and door made for a firefly show on many attempts.
It ended up at 3.01k samples over about 22 hours to smooth out the last of them with one distant exterior mini-mesh at 5000 watts (for the nice shadow of the mysterious Stranger on the frosted glass), the desk lamp at 40, the cigar at 5 and nearly no gain, and one giant mesh light behind the whole set up to produce shadow softness.
Done!
Light post in Gimp for smoke and glass text.

I've missed these noir pcs. They look great rendered in lux! Excellent characters, terrific touch with the dames silhouette at the door!
