Description
This Coral Snake was trying to cross the road in front of my house, but one of the feral cats was giving it a hard time. So I ran and got my camera and took some flash shots as it was completely dark out, but underneath a street lamp.

Hey Dan.. good photo... Question? The Arizona Coral Snake is red, white and Black... Could this be another type of snake...?

Interesting! Once when I was 5, I saw a snake swallow a rat whole!

No Tom it is red, YELLOW, and black. We have a saying here. Red touch yellow, kills a fellow. There is another snake called a king snake where the same colors in bands are present, but the red and yellow bands do not touch each other. Thanks guys.

wow, what a beauty!

Thanks, I agree and hope people left him alone so he could eat all the desert roaches that come out this time of year.

Cool capture. During my field work in various parts of the state (Arizona) we ran across these occasionally.
UVDan
Thanks.
