Description

Many do not know how to respect this unique landscape. You can see my tracks don't come anywhere near the edge. It's far better to walk in the shifting sands than crush a fragile fin years in the making. These petrified sand dunes are far from weak, but what nature has delicately sculpted, can be lost in a moment if not respected. Sure I would have liked entering this for a few images, but it would have left a wake of destruction. Areas such as this bring to mind the motto..."Don't tread on me"! Really like the lines of Iron oxidation. Somehow it enhances the patterns in the sandstone for me. I will go into Iron concretions on the next post, promise. Thought of inserting the image I want to use in the bottom right corner for that explanation, but like the softness of the sand with the contrasting petrified dunes and so left well enough alone. A great week to all! Know I'm looking forward to next weeks total eclipse! To the kind souls that leave their mark whether a comment, rating, or save the image as a fav, you are very much appreciated, thank you!!! Thank you all that viewed my last image below. thumb_2329342.jpg

Oh, my, such breath-taking beauty, delicacy. I'm glad you were careful so others may see this. As for the eclipse, will you get some photos, and post them. Would be nice to see what you succeed in getting. Keep up the good work! :-)

How marvellous these petrified sand dunes look and I'm so glad you didn't get too close so that they will still be around for years to come. A stunning capture.
