Description
Gage was perhaps the hottest detective Eavan had ever seen. So it was with just a tiny tinge of guilt that he had called the detective on a bogus tip just to spend time with him, even if it was inspecting a supposedly haunted warehouse dump. However, the man was infuriatingly "all business" when he showed up.
"Do you like movies?"
"Shhhh!" came the quick reply as Gage crept forward into the darkness.
Eavan stumbled and muttered a curse, before finally conjuring a light orb to help illuminate his path. Up ahead, the detective had pulled his gun out and wasn't paying Eavan any attention.
Brow furrowed in just as much determination as the cop, Eavan began formulating other ways to get the man's attention off the job and on to him.
Seeing a rusted catwalk overhead, Eavan formed an idea and went with it. It took very little force the pull one side of it down so it swung free of the wall. Gage, alerted by the noise, bolted back down the corridor, grabbed Eavan, and swung him against the opposite wall just as the catwalk whooshed past.
The proximity of the policeman's body to his sent thrills running up Eavan's spine. Gasping, he grabbed hold of those broad shoulders and held on.
"Are you alright?" Gage asked, still watching the catwalk as its swing slowly dwindled and it hung harmlessly against the other wall.
It took Eavan a second before he realized what Gage was asking, and he nodded briefly. The policeman turned and their eyes met for but a moment, but Eavan swore he thought he saw those sharp eyes glowing blue, but Gage blinked and the moment passed.
Smiling tentatively as he took in their close positions, his much larger thigh shoved between the dancer's legs and arms pinning Eavan to the rusted steel behind him, Gage backed away, and Eavan was physically struck by disappointment at the end of the too brief contact.
Still smiling, Gage held out his hand. "Let's stay close, this time, ok?" he said.
Eavan had to force himself not to show how ecstatic he was as he took Gage's hand and they began walking down the hall.
Feeling the incredible heat rolling off Gage, Eavan decided he'd risk life and limb if that's what it took to get this close to the detective.

I agree with what everyone else has said here and will add that the expression on her face of "I got this" is just perfect. Really nice illustration here. :)
