Description
Yaquina Head Lighthouse, Oregon's tallest tower (93 feet) built in 1872, is located on a narrow point of land jutting out into the Pacific Ocean north of Newport at Yaquina Head.

Excellent. We visited Yaquina Head in May 2011 and got lots of wind, rain and grey skies. Hooray for the sunset, beautiful lighting and very attractive composition.

What a gorgeous sky! We didn't see this sort of color when we were there last year, but I do recall seeing a bald eagle. Beautiful shot of a glorious place!
