Description
I have seen this quite frequently along the Northern California coast, but do not know it's identity. Last summer I was walking the pier in Trinidad and decided to take an image to aid in it's identification, but it still eludes me. They are blooming here once again and so I'll post and maybe someone is familiar with this coastal plant.

These are commonly known as Red Hot Pokers, birds & butterflies love them. official name is Kniphofia Uvaria. hope this helps - my mom has a bunch of them growing around the house

A beautiful capture, Dana. It's great to see them 'in wild'. We have them in our garden. In Dutch we call them: Vuurpijl (Kniphofia) - Royal Castle Hybrids.
