Greetings To One and All!
It's Friday and no I'm sorry ...no Fractal Factory as I haven't had much time to create and I'm not going to toss one together just to stay on track....Besides it wouldn't be fair to those that enjoy my fractals if I rushed one through the factory without taking the time and putting 100% into it so for now I would like to take this opportunity to share something else while I'm sorta behind at the moment...
This is for those that use Poser or Daz Studio and is something I've been considering for some time now and that is creating models that can be used in your scenes or with your characters you create.I'm somewhat close to understanding Daz Studio and as of late with the way my schedule is I just don't have the time to really kick the tires and so until then I would like to create models or props that I find not in availability for those that may like to have a certain prop or model in their scenes.
I'll go as far as saying that I save them as a Bryce file and I know they open in Daz 4 but don't have Poser but from what I read it will...
Only problem now is what to do with them as far as putting them in the market place here and selling them.I've been to 100's of sites and the prices that are being requested made me cringe.I've already been requested to "not" give them away and this is where I'm having problems.I never once thought to sell my models but I'm really getting good at it and well I guess I would like to know how to go about making some extra cash with what I create and what the steps are and if anyone here has that knowledge and was willing to help me I'd be forever grateful.I'm not going to ask an arm or leg because you folks are my friends and I already feel guilty as it is for saying I'm going to charge something but like so many here that do sell items I thought why shouldn't I.
I promise that my models will be of solid construction and user friendly when using them for whatever scene you chose to place them in.
But once again I don't have the 1st clue on how to get started or the direction to take and as I said I'd surely be grateful for any help that will get me to my goal.Not all my future models will cost money as I will load some into the "free stuff" section from time to time for those like me that can't afford to buy things and are in the hunt for freebies.
So with that said I'd like to take the time to show you folks what I'm capable of as far as model building and would like to take this time to present my very 1st Ferris Wheel I created in Bryce Pro 7 from basic Bryce shapes simply because I needed one for a future render and couldn't find one so I made one....lol....It was a challenge to say the least but I think it turned out rather nice.....(smiles)...
Would really appreciate some honest critiques if you feel inclined to do so.Don't worry I won't break....lol...

well I am no critic by any means but if i had found this model back when I was working on "Where Did All The People Go" I would have been very pleased to have put your Ferris wheel in that piece.

Your ferris wheel looks great Will. I have no clue about how you get stuff into the stores. I only use programs I don't have to buy stuff for so can't really be of much help.

Great job! That would be a lot of work done in Bryce. Have you tried Wings-3D yet. It's free off the net (Google it) and I would be happy to bring you up to speed. Many folks prefer it over the really pricy professional programs. For example, once you get good with it, this model would take about 30 minutes to create. If I had to do it in Bryce, it would take me better than 4 hours.. at least. How much time did you put into this? Best wishes.. Dave :^)

FANTASTIC WILL ,,,IT'S A GREAT WHEEL ,,,MATE I WORK WITH DAZ ALL THE TIME ,AND LIKE YOU GO GET THE FREEBIES HAVE'NT PAID FOR ANYTHING YET ,BUT STILL I GET MY ART DONE ,, BUT ON THE OTHER HAND IF DID HAVE THE TALENT TO MODEL THINGS ,IT WOULD'NT HERT TO EARN A LITTLE MORE CASH AS WELL ,I REALLY DO'NT THINK YOUR FRIENDS WOULD BEGRUDGE YOU YOUR TALENT AND TO EARN A LITTLE MORE GO FOR IT WILL, LIKE YOU SAID YOU COULD ALWAYS PUT A FEW FREEBIES IN NOW AND THEN " PSTTTT THE GOOD ONES "LOL

I found all i needed to know about setting up a vender account right here http://www.renderosity.com/selling-products-cms-13099 start there and just read all the other links. ;o) hey all our friends here would not be upset for selling items. it gives them the chance to get good models at a fair price. and every no and then a good freebie! will that's all i know about it as i am just preparing it myself, but you'll get more from others here.. oh and it's thursday!! lolol here where we live in thee states lol,... you are forward a day ..:o0 Great to have ya back!!!! ;o))

Hi buddy. Very cool! I'll tell you one thing. I was just over on DAZ looking around at the new site and I certainly hope that they're not done setting it up yet because I can't find shit! Oh my God. You can't even click on the vendor's name to see their other products. Like I said, I hope they're not done yet and I'm not flaming them because I spend as much money there as I do here probably and I can usually fly through the process of locating and buying, but oh crap. Okay. Sorry for venting. I just came here from there. Check it out. See what you think. Jeesh.

Hello Will, You are AWESOME and I don't want you to feel bad that you have to charge something for your work. You have to make a living. It is as simple as that ! I am a Bird Breeder and Trainer and I do a lot of educational talks at the schools and places for free sometimes 'cause I want to make sure people are educated before they go out and buy a bird without any clue as to what they are getting into. Also I am NOT going to give a bird away either ! I have a lot of money and time wrapped up in my birds. So you go out there and you promote your art and DO NOT feel bad about making money !!! Wow, this looks like a fun prop to have and I hope you can find out how to become a vendor at RR. I have thought about it too but have never found out how to go about it. Your models are really well thought out, I loved that car you did a little while ago and I think you should start selling your work as it is very well done and everyone is always looking for new things to add to their work. I wish you the best of luck for heaps of sales.

it is hard to gauge if something is free, unless you see it used often in posted renders. all you can do is jump in a try the water. looks like a well designed model

will, first of all, go here to the marketplace and scroll down to selling products and that should get you in the door! if you don't have any luck there then contact nursoda or 1971s for further imformation on to get started, i'm sure both of them will help you!!! the ferris wheel is a great model, hope you do well!:)*5
