Description
The first of 2 photo's of this "65" Mercury Comet Caliente 2dr. Hardtop side shot.
I met the owner of this ride about 10 years ago, his name was Ron. We became great friends, and he treated me like part of his family. When we were together at car shows his family , wife, daughter and son would come bringing all the food and drinks to every show and and it was always free to anyone who came to our table. They were a great family and at times I really felt like part of the family.
His car as you can see was one of the cleanest originals I've ever seen, as I know the car very well being my own brother owned a black "65" Caliente 4 speed, which I might add was very fast on the road.
Four years after I met Ron and enjoyed his company always when we we together, Ron got very ill and soon past away, and his lose was almost unbearable to me, as I feel there are always friends out there, but there are also real friends people you'd do anything for and Ron was one of those guys to me.
Today some years later, I still miss him deeply and still think about him daily. His car stayed with the family and the son now ownes it and it still looks as good as you see here. I really love this car I even tried to buy it but the family would not part with it and it's very understandable to me. I hope you like.
If you also notice in this photo, my car is just on the other side of Ron's car in this shot.

Sorry for the loss of your friend. True ones are so hard to find. It's good that his son keeps this wonderfu car rollin and it stays with the family. It looks so clean it does him credit.

Can't say I owned one but you'd be surprised just how many old cars that have passed through my garage over the years...lol...Sorry for the lose of such a close friend...Keeping the car in the family was nice to hear.So many are not after the fact.So your a Mustang owner eh?....This should grab your attention then.... Owned but sold/traded/wrecked over time 64 1/2 Mustang (brother still owns) 68 Fastback (wrapped around a tree) 69 Mach 1 (used primarily in quarter mile events...sold it) 69 Boss (traded for the 70 Boss) 70 Boss (sold 10 years ago) wish I didn't....sigh... 75 Cobra (still own and is being restored) I won't bore you with the Mopar phase I went through...that's for another time....lol..

Can't wait 'till your car makes front page! The Comet is super sweet but, let's face it, the real star is lurking in the shadows. A toast to Ron and to all the people who understand the love affair men have with their vehicles. winks

Gotta love the people that treat people that way!
