The Federation starship's doctor kept the former prisoner's/potential main course on a crow queen's menu sedated until he was certain they contained no diseases or boobey traps from the crow beings. Lt. August Franklin was the first to be resuscitated. Once he was brought up to date, the doctor proceeded to awaken the rest of the crew. The Federation ship's tailor was able to match up everyone's uniforms with reasonable precision. Soon everyone had acclimated themselves to life aboard the Federation starship. One of the favorite scenes from the rescue the crew played over and over again to the sounds of their cheering and delight was where the wormhole door was transported to outerspace and a large number of the crow beings get sucked into space before the door gets shut. One of the requests of this mission was to find the missing secret military space ships of Prince Leto's father as well. In talking over what Lt. Franklin remembers and playing back the videos of his conversations with the one talkative crow, they have learned how the tractor beam and stasis method were used to capture all three ships. Most of the crew from Lt. Franklin's ship are thought to still be on board his spaceship. Unfortunately, the fate of the crews of the other two ships has already been determined. They became lunch for the queen crow's voracious appetite to feed her while in her reproductive mode. The captain of the Federation starship decides to try and rescue the one ship with the crew members still aboard. He feels that the crow beings knowledge of the ancient equipment on the decoy planet isn't sufficient yet to pose a real danger to a fully functional Federation starship. So, they proceed to the point they believe will locate the missing spaceships and sure enough, there they are. Still locked in place by the beams from the planet. The captain of the Federation starship determines the locations of the tractor & stasis beam's controls and with pinpoint accuracy knocks both control centers off line. In the confusion this causes, he beams the rescued crewmen aboard Lt. Franklin's spaceship along with some of his own crew to assist in reviving Lt. Franklin's crewmen and help prepare the spaceship for flight back to Prince Leto's home planet. With all the chaos they created on the planet below, they have no problem in carrying out their plans. A quick inventory of the crewmen aboard Lt. Franklin's ships reveals they are all present. The only reason he was captured was his curiosity in traveling down to the decoy planet's surface alone and subsequent attempt at skinny dipping in one of the pools he found. With the Federation starship accompanying them, they all return to Prince Leto's home planet. The Emperor is delighted to have at least one of his space ships returned but is saddened to learn about all the men that were lost on the other two. He request further assistance from the Federation to retrieve the other two space ships, but is informed they can't help right away since they have some other missions they must attend to. But once those are taken care of, they will be happy to assist the Emperor in getting back his two ships. Prince Leto, Dax Dunnbarr and Renn Tolbac have become good friends. Dax and Renn decide to spend some R&R time on Prince Leto's planet. They continue the Prince's lessons in the martial arts as well as living a quality life. With this mission completed and the Emperor very pleased with the training the prince has received, he relieves Dax of his contract to tutor the prince and gives him a most tidy tip in addition to his regular fee. Dax decides to go back to D-935 with Renn and see if he can't help straighten out some of the corruption that has been uncovered there. Perhaps the Prince would like to join them?
