At first it's one complex form - a statement on the beauty of fidelity?

Avian ballet. Magnificent image! If you get the chance see the DVD of Matthew Bourne's Swan Lake, danced entirely by men. This has a great deal in common with the choreography.

Great work - love the lighting & composition...

Brilliantly dramatic lighting and detail; and of course your composition is stunning!

Incredible, the lighting and forms, with the black background, really stunning.

What a fabulous way to show these lovely sleeping flamingos :)

beautiful detail and an imaginative viewpoint

Stunning pic! I like the difference between bright and dark parts very well. A typical b/w scenery, but I am lucky that you didn`t so. The light sepia color tone creates a very special mood, I cannot describe. 5++++

I really like this composition.

Wonderful detail in this super photograph.

Lighting enhances the form and textures making a tangible image.the background adds volume, since it is not a complete black.A favorite for sure!

The light and shadow, the clarity of the lines, makes this a stunning shot. Beautiful image!

Very fluid motions - it reminds me of, when mixing the pastry for a cake - when all those textures coming together ... ah well, in my fantasy anyway - or a symphony for a ballet, Superb work, Nikolay BB

Are they napping like budgies? Beautiful shot.

This is absolutely wonderful...my thanks to the photographer for seeing and bringing this to us with such wonderful and almost surreal form. Thanks for the Flamingos for their slow dance.

ditto to everyone above. A true nikolay image. And I too thought of ballet, because there is a lot of intertwining movement here that one sees often in the best ballet. You've once again taken a life and form from the world and given it to us in such an 'other' light, and in the process shown us an Essence. And an essence that, for all its 'newness', seems like it's what it was supposed to be from the start. Beautiful light and shadow, beautiful forms---very birdlike but also totally transcendent---and perfectly set against that deep dark background with what appears to be almost 'stars,' even though they could be leaves. "Abstract" usually intones cool or even cold, mathematical forms...but it means (in English), to take out an essence, to take out the "tract". So an abstract is really about the guts of something, the essence of something; and this is an abstract in the best sense. Beautiful work. I'll write to you soon, Nikolay, I truly hope you're doing ok, you and your family. Life has changed so much, I assume, and I wish you great peace, strength and light in its wake. And thank you, as always, for your visits and comments. They're always a joy. Much light to you and in the passages ahead...

Lighting, genius; Idea, genius. Wish I had the imagination to come up with something lik this...
