Your render is absolutely way cool and fun to view. Absolutely wonderful work. Really lovely work. Your story rings true. Like you , I just did the DMV shuffle. I my case it is a disabled driving placard. I have one already, for years now, but when I get to DMV its no-go, can't get you one. Seems I am not in THE SYSTEM". I show them the old placard and they actually tell me it doesn't exist because it isn't in "THE SYSTEM" So I now have to get an authorization from my Doctor that I am disabled. At the Doctor's place of hell they tell me I am already disabled in "THE SYSTEM" so the Doctor doesn't need to help me with DMV paperwork sign off. At that point I asked the person if she wanted to finish this conversation in public or take it into an office. She kind of whimpered something and said she would see what they could do. Two weeks later I get the paperwork from the Doctor and go to the DMV. Two weeks after that I have the new placard. I won't tell you here the part about the felt tip,alcohol swabbing, and how I fixed my non-existent expired placard for the meantime.

Awesome image Len! I love your selective coloring here. The DMV experience is a universal one it seems. Foolishness like that happens here as well. One of the gals where I work got caught in a simular situation. Her driver's license was about 3 weeks expired when she noticed, so she went to get it renewed and was told she needed her birth certificate. it took her 2 weeks to get it and in the meantime she was having to get co-workers to give her rides to and from work. when she finally got her birth certificate the clerk told her she didnt need it when she originally came in because you have a month to do that. Now that she was past the month she had to redo the written and driver's test and pay $100.00 fine before getting her license back. She explained she had been there before the month was up, but they said it doesn't matter.

I'm grinning ear to ear about this story. At first I saw "driver's license and thought -- what freaking kind of drivers. Hard disk? Video card? Then I realized... Things are getting ugly here paper work wise. Not only do you have to provide that extra hard core ID, but it is supposed to match your SSN card perfectly. No tolerance for small differences. I'm going to be in trouble, because one is middle name and the other is middle initial. We live in a world of idiot rules. And the rules are going to get worse.

Couldn't agree more about the dennydumbfucks who seem to be overflowing in any type of government job these days... Awesome perception on the twisted up, dumbed down, and morally bankrupt our world has become.

Super image, nice detail. I too have had to deal with the registry here in Rhode Island with similar results. You spend 2 or 3 hours waiting for your number to be called and they tell you you need more paperwork. So go and get what they tell you and return the next day. Again you wait and finally get to a different person than the day before and they start throwing away paperwork you don't need, and it's what you were told the day before you needed. At that point you want to reach over and give that person a smack. Government bullshit, the right hand doesn't know what the left hand is doing. One of the jobs you can keep even if you screw up half the time.

Great image Len and a fantastic story, lol! I'm really sorry for you. There are zillions of ridiculous rules nowadays, but when reading all these comments I'm quite glad that at least this one doesn't exist in Germany. You won't have to renew your driving licence here, it will be valid forever (if you don't do anything wrong that is) if you don't give it back by your own choice at the age of 80 or 90 or so. ;) Only exception is if you're having a driving licence for trucks...you'll have to renew that one every 5 years from age of 50 on.

Lol Len,I can't stop laughing at your predicament! Although this is late I needed a laugh today and wham there you are!! Sorry! Wait till you are 65 and try to claim old age pension.. Same sh-t different piles of papers and more gov. crazies to deal with. Hopefully Jim and I will be prepared,unlike my parent's what a pile of B.S. they had to go through. Oh no they weren't done--yet. When each of them died the stack of papers seemed to get higher and they weren't hear to ans. the skill testing questions the other crazies put forth. GO FIGURE !!
