------------- The Black Gryphon – Alred Akashis

“In dreams do they speak, the madness from Beyond. Those who listen to their song are touched by their madness, but by power as well.” – Cameron Quinn.

Even before the demons of the Abyss, long before my once master, the Ravager was spat out of some black hole, growling and ripping at His birth canal with demonic fangs and endless bloodlust, there was The Beyond. When the Gods forced order upon the void and pushed the insanities and impossibilities aside to make the multiverse, they were there, in the miasma of color and tortured, torn realities, cursing the oneness, the cleanliness, the sense of it all. They were the Old Ones, those that came before creation, insanities passed down from an older multiverse, crossing over into the next because they were never wholly part of the last. Few know of their existence. Most who learn of them go mad. Those who actively seek them to gain their immeasurable knowledge and power are worse than mad.

Alred Akashis was one such madman. As a Mage, he was brilliant and promising. But he sought that which was forbidden, more power, more magic, more secrets of the multiverse. One would think that would be the natural goal of practitioners of the Art. But there is always a line where “too much” becomes an evil in itself. Most of us have crossed that line to become Necromancers, to hold greater power, to tap into magics of life and death itself. Most of us eventually end up becoming that which we have manipulated and controlled for years, one of the undead. Whether that will be Alred’s fate or not, I could not say, for his path is leading him into uncharted territory, even for me. There are no names for the Gods he calls upon, but I do know that even the likes of Orcus and Demogorgon shutter at the thought of them. Pray, foolish mortals, to whatever warm and fuzzy Gods you worship, that he does not unwittingly unleash them upon us all. They are the Destroyers, the Enders of Time.

It might be interesting to find oneself fighting along side Orcus and Demogorgon to defeat something even they fear... Though I doubt I'd trust them to leave anyone in peace once the battle was won (if it was won)... Interesting story and pic.

That is just damned amazing, and terrorfying. And he looks so 'normal' to be playing with such insanity. I love the statement... Uhhhmmm, Hell there are so many i really cant pick just one... Ok i think for today this one: When the Gods forced order upon the void and pushed the insanities and impossibilities aside to make the multiverse, they were there, in the miasma of color and tortured, torn realities, cursing the oneness, the cleanliness, the sense of it all. Yeah... this one. You deserve more than a 5 for this image and story.
