Description

This is what happens when you try to do a cold reading on a piggy. They say that "magicians" perform at children's birthday parties, but "illusionists" make the big money with elaborate stage shows. Similarly, "psychics" are akin to fortune tellers and often operate over the telephone. "Intuitives" tend to draw the crowds. When they make it to stage-level performances, these mental types are well-served by making it very clear to the audience that what they do is a trick, NOT wizardry. But then, there are those who call themselves "mediums," which in itself is just begging people to turn on you at some point. Note that if you're going to a show where the performer describes him/herself as a master of "legerdemain," it's best to know what that is, and to watch your wallet. All this is only partially related to those few who call themselves "psychic surgeons," who are to doctors what snake oil salesmen are to pharmacists... Possibly with some added legerdemain, prestidigitation, and chicken giblets thrown in. Yeah.

SMILES .... GOOD stuff!! (I'm reminded of the famous 'psychic' who got 'arrested' after a bit for 'falsely misleading' her 'buyers' .... Never figured out WHY she did NOT 'see' it coming?") GRINS.

Ha! There are so many charlatans in these areas that the poor people who DO have a "gift" (of whatever) are drowned out and washed away with the charlatans, and wind up getting the shaft. I really enjoyed your parody. The piggy is thinking food, and winds up with something else which gets him off balance, but, he's honest and says so. This is an interesting departure from your earlier work at Hillville. Or is this a show at the Hillville theater? Either way - fun! Keep up the good work! :-)
