Description
April 2008, Hashi and his siblings and proud mama Tres moved into our yard. Today we found him dead along the street behind our house. No visible marks to indicate cause. Just a poor, off-white, blue-eyed, cross-eyed 20-pound "kitten" lying in the rain. His buddy, Ski-ball / Jetski, is devastated and keeps looking at us just as sad as a poor lonely, brainless, black and white cat can look. Two years ago, he lost his sibling Missy and now his inseparable friend for four years has disappeared.
We always expect something to happen, but this guy was careful and understood traffic. He is going to be much-missed in the neighborhood. These two had a regular "beat" for working the houses in the morning and evening having become used to everyone's schedules. Moreover, Hashi was remarkably friendly with all people and tolerated almost any sort of handling including being hauled into a house for a visit.

Oh that's brutal to find him that way. Cats always find their way to me. So I know how you feel. Took one in once in the middle of a heat wave, took her to the vet, found out she was going to have kittens, and then the story gets really long from there. Sorry, buddy.

Always a risk with free-roaming cats....but he had a good life. Mine prefer the outsoors also.

so sad. I saw a dead cat one time and know two of them always playing together. One got hit by a car and die and the one living was trying to get his friend cat up and moving again. Broke my heart. that was years ago i saw that but the memory came back as I read your story. very good shot

So sorry my dear, I know the angst of losing a pet. But I always get another. The love they give is a blessing.
