------------- The Black Gryphon – Jingo Fhaegen
“Irritating little bastards.” – Cameron Quinn.
Some think that Houlifar are cute, cheery, wonderful people. Though vertically challenged as a species, they have managed to accomplish great things. They not only built a kingdom in a wild and dangerous land, but have managed to keep their lands where others have fallen to the side. But I can personally vouch for the character of Houlifar. They are not all foolish or foolhardy. They are not insignificant, at least not all of them. And they are not universally of good will and kind heart. It should be of no surprise that some of the best assassins in the west belong to the Short Help Syndicate. Jingo Fhaegen comes to mind.
Jingo, Vhaeryn and Lord Razzak had gone way back. Jingo had been sent northwest, out of Nice Little Place to Mount Darkholm, under orders of the Syndicate to assist the infamous Lord Torganbandr. When the Silver Gryphon defeated him and his plot and brought down his organization, Jingo managed to escape. He saved Vhaeryn and Sir Razzak in the process. Whether he did so intentionally or not is up for debate. The others went their own way and Jingo returned to his career as a murderer for hire. He managed to garner some small infamy as a tenacious hunter and sneaky assassin, a master of escape, forgery, stealth, trap springing and general larceny and mayhem. Wanted by the law in Carellon, but too slippery and not important enough to put any effort into to catch, he remained at large. Some years later, when Vhaeryn realized the growing band needed a thief, Jingo was their first choice.
