I'm trying to limit my commenting, now, to a couple per gallery, because I need to rest up my hands. But I pick this as a kind of 'companion' to the gorge shot because it too is monumental. And again, it's the kind of sight that would seem very easy to capture, but for me very hard to capture well. Monumentality has its perils for some of us. But you instinctively found simplified forms in something as massive & complex as this. It's basically two sets of peaks, one in shadow, one in light; and they seem to bend into the center, as if they're so heavy they cause the center to sag a bit. And a looming valley below, with wonderful rock formations intermingled with brush, greenery, etc. You got the 'bigger gestures' in the midst of all this formation, fine seeing for such a huge sight. But all the detail is there, all the same: The long horizontal layers, and the sheer vertical furrows and rock-falls. All the detail is intact in your shot. And a big broad sky to even it all out...Another fine piece of monumental seeing; and, full size, sweeping, beautiful, and very articulate.
