Oh God. I'm such a two lane bumpkin that if I was driving in that picture there would be a line of traffic behind me, my brake lights would be on, and I would be halfway into the other lane. Or trying to make an illegal U-turn. LOL! :)

Neat Urban image! Looks like you were there at a time of little traffic~ Having learned to drive in and around Nashville where 3, yes THREE, major Interstates intersect (I-40, I-65, I-24) I learned to navigate busy highways early on. When I moved to Oakland, CA to live with my new Mother-in-Law when I was 18 (in the winter of 1974 as my new husband went to report for a new duty assignment in Germany, I was to follow a few months later)my newly met relatives were very surprised the highways there did not intimidate me. Not even the multi-layered-many-laned Bay Bridge to SF (where I went a couple times a week to their complete surprise as they thought of it as a major excursion it was just a hop and skip to me...). I wonder how Cher and Dionne(?) would have approached this highway...remember the movie? lol

I can't imagine the amount of concrete it takes to create these modern day freeways! Great shot here, Richard!
