Excellent modeling of the large ship. Why is it partially buried in the asteroid? Any special technique for building the asteroides? They look very good.

Thanks memaci. Slave1 is actually hovering above the asteroid with a small amount of bounce added. You cant see in this still but the model and camera are linked on a motion path. Both turn and move on the path and show the distance of the ship from the asteroid. Not a lot went into making the asteroids. We are still trying to make them look better. They are created using a vertex sphere that is stretched and pulled in different locations. We made about ten, trying to make each one look deferent. Stucco and cement bump maps cover the object. The spots shader work good also. For the distant ones we imported all ten and poisoned them to make a cluster then duplicated and rotated it and grouped the two together. Then did this to the last created cluster of each group about 5 or 6 times. (The PC will start to get slow if you do it to many times with a heavy map file.) The whole sequence was then setup for animation and each group of asteroids and ships were rendered separately with an Alpha channel. Some of the closer asteroids are setup as shadow catchers then rendered with and with out it turned on. (The camera motion path from S1 is saved and used in each rendering and the models visibility was turned off until needed. This way you get the camera motion in all the renderings) everything was finely brought into paint and compositing programs for touch up and effects.
