Description
This shot is of the Alter of Nunney Church.
For those interested I do not use flash unless I am forced to as I feel it makes the shot look artificial, I do own one but I think it has never come out of my camera bag, except when used by my son.
There was mention of flowers on the tombs I think this was a nice thought by someone who decorates the church with flowers although this is only a guess, the church is very well looked after.
And for Dana the church predates the castle and If I have got my facts right It goes back to Norman times ,the first Parson was appointed in 1178.the guy on the windowsill built the castle but the other two improved and extended the church so they had him pushed onto the window
sill.
An interesting bit of info - In the Doomsday book published in 1066 It is recorded that Cole a Saxon squire had 600 acres under cultivation in Nunney and the population at that time consisted of 3 Villains, 8 cottagers and 4 slaves and totalled about 50 people.

wonderful image. flash I mostly use when i take photo of family in a dark place. I use it rarely too. Plus on my camera you can ajusst the flash so it will not "burn " out the colors

A super capture - excellent stonework - love the stained glass windows. Thanks for the update and info Alan. There is a big difference between the castle and the church. :o)
