I found this tiny, delicate flower in the Bok Tower Gardens. It was in the middle of a plot of tall grass and it is called African Iris (Dietes iridioides)and it is only the size of the fingernail on my thumb. Thanks Harry (GoodOleBoy) for the ID. Edward William Bok (born Eduard Willem Gerard Cesar Hidde Bok) (October 9th 1863 to January 9th 1930) was Dutch born, immigrated to the US, at age 6, was a Pulitzer Prize-winning author and editor of the Ladies Home Journal for thirty years. Bok is credited with coining the term living room as the name for a room, of a house, that had commonly been called the parlor or drawing room. He also created a 50 acre sanctuary, called Bok Tower Gardens, in central Florida. I had the opportunity to walk around these gardens that was designed and created from 1924 to 1928. I found a plaque (from a US government survey team) that stated that I was standing at 324 feet above sea level and that was the highest point in peninsular Florida.
