My name is Clive, resident in Cape Town, South Africa. I am an amateur photographer who has been enjoying the medium in a more serious manner since 2003.
I took a trip to the UK armed with a Minolta Maxxum 7000 that I had inherited from my Dad.
Out of the holiday snaps, I managed to get a few that I felt were quite good, but had no idea of how I managed to get them 'right'.
Since then I have done a couple of courses in the darkroom and joined a local photographic society where I was on the committee for a while.
Hopefully I am getting it 'right' more often these days.
I have a Minolta Maxxum 7 and being tied into the lens system, the Sony A100 DSLR was my introduction to the digital world. This has recently been upgraded to the Alpha SLT-A55 and I have to admit that I have shot more digital in the last five years than film!
My daughter Kristen (Kris10) and son Sean (fotoSean) have accounts here too, in the hope that they will learn too and share my passion! Sadly they have been rather quiet of late, much like their dad...
August 2015 marks the end of my 3 years as coordinator for the Photographic section of Renderosity. What a wonderful time of my life that I thoroughly enjoyed! Thank you all for the opportunity!
Keep the smile alive,
Clive

Great photo, Clive. A British icon, and so few of them left in this age of mobile phones. It almost as if the ivy is trying to preserve this relic of former age. And the glass looks so clean! Did you polish the windows before taking this?

There are very few of these around now. Some bought them for their gardens or to convert them into shower cubicles.

Someone needs to get one of these and remove all the equipment and replace it with a dock and an iPhone, then change the "TELEPHONE" sign into a "TEXTAPHONE" one instead, since the younger set have apparently given up on actually phoning anyone, preferring to turn back the science of communications by fifty years or so. I'd love one of these in my yard somewhere!

We used to have these until they replaced them with ugly aluminium ones. Now they are all virtually gone due to cell phones!
