Description
ANGELS
We are angels - at least that's what they've called us for some time now. Some of us used to be gods and some of us used to be yazata, which are actual angels. Those of us who were elder gods (and I use the term euphemistically) have been both male and female - mythologically speaking, that is. Aside from that little point, like you we were created in the image of our maker. Given that some of you are male and some of you are female, logic says that your maker is capable of being either/or. Therefore, so are we. So, if some of us look male and some look female and some, androgynous that's because that is how we chose to be.
These days I go by the name of Lex, but I've been known by many others. Quaintly speaking, I am the angel of writing and languages, signs, symbols and the like. This includes numbers, for if the universe can be 'explained' (presumably) by a mathematical equation a mile long, then mathematics and numbers are a form of language. Words are dynamic and ephemeral things with many meanings. As soon as you put a name or a number to something, you have qualified it or quantified it. By assigning that quality or quantity to it, you have 'categorized' it - put it in a neat little pigeon-hole loaded down with the baggage of associations in your mind and the minds of the common consensus.
Therefore, I am the Angel of Categories.

Another of the angels you will meet, even if briefly in the story. These days, he handles the documentation for the angels as they pass through successive identities and 'lives'. He's become an expert at forgery. But it is a necessity, when you live eternally and you're stuck here.

Superb work on this, Ray! Those eyes are so piercing - it's as if he can look straight through our mortal bodies directly into our souls. But then, I guess angels can do that sort of thing! :-D

Excellent! I love the concept you've presented here and this is a great portrait. Love those green eyes. I can definitely relate to your explanation on angels interactions throughout the centuries. Makes you wonder if all those flying saucers are in fact Chariots of the Gods, or angels in this case. Great story development.
