Description
It was raining most of the day, so I found time for painting and trying out something I saw on YouTube timelabs of someone painting Lilacs. I thought I could make something about half as good. I think I did. :-) Hope you like it :)

As I said, we have had rain tonight and most of the day, but now the sun is showing its beautiful smile again. :)

OMG! You did this! Absolutely gorgeous. It's your style ... I would know it anywhere ... but it's the lilacs! Wow. This is fantastic. Now you make me think I should give it a try in ArtRage. It won't look anything like either one! (People will say, "That's a nice-looking doggie, Tara!" LOL!)

Lol, tara. And Andrea too (more "loose"---yes, spontaneous, fresh, new). The lilacs burst all over the center of this bouquet, with all those varied purples used to show the flowers and petals, etc. You've made the petals into an ocean of color bursts, all held together in a mass, punctuated by the leaves. It's very intense yet it's wholly light. I think that's one of your traits, among many---ie, the ability to capture intensity but keep it ever dancing. And you've given the simplest two toned background with those very water-color like washes and textures in spots (beautiful & simple). Finally, I loooove the vase, with those drooping dripping washes making their way across the vase's surface. Another wholly fresh piece, and sedate and beautiful at the same time. Wonderful work Helle. And the right 'crop' too (wrong word, since it's not a photo), meaning the wider longer size is perfect for the bouquet.

Love it I may have to get this ArtRage program too Is it easy to follow instructions on... Usually someone has to show me how first...I am no good at reading directions I always fumble up on them.......... and what about the program on YouTube is it art as well? Love lilacs.........and the smell......I had a bush at my moms but it died out...I did notice new sprouts last year so hopefully it's coming back.. my cousin has them in her yard.may have to dig one up LOL Love this...........and it's a fav Hugs Susan~

This is lovely! Lilacs are among my favorite flowers. They smell so nice! How did I miss this? I miss so much these days. I must be getting old. Or something. I think that you did an excellent job here. I can almost smell them. They smell like summer nights with fireflies and lemonade. I love it! Brilliant work.
