Description

Posting a crop of, "Spirit of the Sandstone", to apply what I now know and compare. Have learned from a tutorial that I've been a destructive boy due to where my adjustments have been made in the past from the tool bar on top in CS5. Am aware now that using the right hand panel and it's adjustment layers is far less devastating to pixel quality... as it's said..."live and learn"! Would like more time to dedicate to these tutorials, but alas... baby steps will still get me to a more proficient level...eventually! ;~) The link below will go to the larger earlier image and not the last post, "Mono Lake". Thanks for your patience while a ride the learning curve. To the kind souls that leave their mark whether a comment, rating, or save the image as a fav, you are very much appreciated, thank you!!! thumb_2333682.jpg

Photoshop is still mostly mysterious to me, but luckily my sight isn't what it was! Superb pic.

Looking at this image is like reading a book on geology! Uplift and erosion and lots and lots of time! A most excellent picture.

I've been reading a lot of geology lately...what a great illustration of layers, tilting, etc. Like both of your shots and applaud your progress with PS. I am a go-slow experimenter too.

Beautiful photo of the colorful sandstone. I wonder if the lizard wanted his picture taken?

This cropping of the image certainly bring you closer to the main subject of the picture! Also the balance of the brightness/contrast is nicer, brings out the structures better! In zoom its certainly cleaner than the original post, although it may look better if sharpened for a specific lower overall resolution. A truly stunning picture though!! Martin
