Description
I was going to the usual supermarket when the view of this first floor balcony of a condo drove me into a frenzy. The rose crept from a scrap of common garden, as big as a small flowerbed, and reached the balcony. It left people to pass under it like a rose waterfall.
Thanks for your kind comments.

this new series strikes me as a continuation of your last one, only concentrating on one of the most sensuous and sought-after of all flowers. Some have suggested (as you may well know) that the root for 'rose' is cognate with the root for the sanskrit 'rishi', both having to do with nectar or essences (the latter of course relating to inner essences). The rose is somehow linked with a deep sense of the nectar of life, thereby. As an artist, whenever I've drawn roses, I've found that their folds seem endless, and the furrows seem like analogues for the journey into an inner realm. That can be said of many flowers, of course, but roses capture that more than most. And I suppose the often singular (and saturated) hues of many types of rose make them also very appealing to those looking for the boldest possible statement of the language of flowers. So it's a fitting flower for a post spring series. And yes, this does cascade down on one, in an almost-Z configuration. And it's grand and opulent and eye popping. And you've captured several hues too, all on a bed of greens. A great way to start this series, a kind of fanfare, and a very generous and caressing shot in its own right.
