Description

here is my second ever painting from nature. I did not even took a photo of my first one as it was super bad. as you see I need a lot more painting to get better at it. any way guess palm trees would be hard to paint even for the pros? got to start some wheres. I post a photo of the back yard next time. look like every one would like to see more of this dream house i was at. I would love to live there all year. I will try to find a photo from this angle pov as I painted it. i got a lot of photos to look at to upload I need to bring more colors of paint down there next time too. I just bought a box of basic 12 colors and most the colors i do not even use. So I going to change some of the colors and bring a few other colors. yes i know I need to use two colors and get a lot of range of colors out of that like red and green. but i need to use blues for sky and oceans here as the ocean have greens so lovely i wish i could mix that color lol

This looks lovely and it feels like a nice place to be at. I have tried to paint ferns and like palms they are not at all easy to do.

yes, you're exploring and trying out techniques & hues...but you have this energy that's very appealing to my eye, your rushed brushstrokes, the whoosh-whoosh of those top branches and leaves, the saturated bright greens in the middle, and the almost flesh colored ground at the bottom. You want to get more gradations and realistic portrayals? I fully understand. And I admire you for doing it all. But you have an energy and freshness-of-color that's quite grabbing to my eye, and I hope you'll not lose that. YOu even have some whites in there---tinged with blues---that are vivid and surprising. Hope you won't lose any of that energy. A really dancing piece. (Palm trees are hard, yes. One misses, in them, the complexity of other tree trunks. They're tubby things, and hard to capture with grace.)
