Description
After finishing "Mass Effect 3" and reading Paul Preuss and Arthur C. Clarke's shamefully-underrated "Venus Prime" series, I had an idea for a scifi novel of my own, about a heroine who is tormented by memories of how the farm where she grew up was destroyed by mechanical monstrosities known only as the Scarabs. After suffering a nervous breakdown brought on by a Scarab attack on her workplace, her employers ship her off to a colony at the ass-end of the galaxy to mediate in a labor dispute - a supposedly easy job. The problem is, the labor dispute involves deep racial tension, and is on the verge of turning violent, and she's convinced the Scarabs are behind it. It's an idea that needs more development, obviously, but it's the best idea for a scifi novel I've had in a long time.
For this pic, I wanted to convey the idea that the Scarabs have obliterated *everything* in our heroine's life. I'm rather pleased with how it came out. I was tempted to do a version with her naked, but I thought that might distract from the point.

Wonderful work,

Nice concept work. I occasionally use DazLuxrender to mock out an action sequence that requires details for by novels too. Works wonders for the little stuff that you might not think of without a visual reference.

Think this looks great. Visually striking and the white teeth really accentuate the emotion.
