Description

Please zoom image to get the details... I was beginning to think I'd never finish this model ! I still need to texture the ship's boat and some internal textures need work, but essentially it's done (I think, maybe, almost....) Cinema 4D says 12 million polygons, which probably means I went wrong somewhere along the modelling process - the price of wanting smooth edges for those close up shots. Built and rendered in Cinema 4D R13 Visualise. Thanks for looking, comments appreciated.

Nice; wish I had that kind of poly count--Inspire 3D kills the object at 65K...

Impressive. I bet its all that lattice work on the engine pods.

Geirla beat me to it...I would agree that the lattices and fine details are the culprit...very cool modelling work!

I've been watching this with great interest and I'm excited at the prospect of seeing this awesome model in action in some scenes supporting your storyline. Personally I'm a huge fan of yours and of high-detail modelling in general so the overall feeling I get from this model is that it's almost too good. Too much regularity of detail perhaps and definitely in need of some good old dirt it somehow fails to create a real sense of scale in these model renders. The uber-clean finish of your Lazloi craft works beautifully but I think this ship might need a bit more grunge to convince me. Of course context is everything so I can't wait to see this ship in a full scene. Excellent work as always.

Your machines are always so distinctive - with 'oodles' of style!

I can see why it took so long. Amazing detail and model mate!
